FIFA World Cup 2022, Croatia vs Canada Live Updates

For those who don't know, what is the FIFA World Cup?

The FIFA World Cup is the sports world's most prestigious event. The tournament includes national teams from around the world and takes place every four years, with nation-versus-nation matches leading up to a tournament final match. This year, 32 men's football teams will play in such locations as

Russia/Kazakhstan; Qatar; Kazan; and London. The 2014 FIFA World Cup was won by Germany over Brazil in Rio de Janeiro on July 13th. In 2022, Russia will host the event for the third time. The nation hosted and won the world championship in both 1966 and in 1982.

Why should anyone care?

The World Cup is the most popular sporting event worldwide, even though it is not played in the United States. It has gained popularity over recent decades, as cable news outlets around the world have focused on it for lengthy periods of time. The final day of competition at a World Cup brings more global television viewing than any other single day of sports competition during any year.

It is an opportunity for nations to bring people together and pride themselves on their countrymen's performance. Even with its popularity, however, there are some aspects of the event that do not seem to be beneficial. One is the fact that it has been shown to be corrupt, with bribery and corruption scandals involving teams, officials, and sponsors.

The number of players who have tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs has risen over the last few decades. As the world's eyes focus on these games, the public becomes more aware of these negative effects and may begin to view the sport more negatively.

Croatia's national team will be hoping to perform well at this year's World Cup in Russia in order to achieve their goal of qualifying for another tournament. They reached this goal by winning their qualifying group along with England, Slovenia, and Scotland. They play their first match against Canada on June 16th at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time:

Canada's national team has been steadily improving over recent years, having reached their highest-ever ranking at 57th in the world today. They have a number of young, talented players that will be expected to perform at the World Cup this summer. Their group opponents include El Salvador; Honduras; and French Guiana. Canada is currently ranked 129th in the world, as they lost their final qualifying match to El Salvador on a goal difference.

They need to get as many points as possible from these games because of how close all of their matches are going to be, with each other team being ranked within ten places of them and separated by only three points in the rankings. The closest opponents in their group are Honduras, who currently stand at 128th in the world rankings and are sandwiched between Canada and French Guiana. It will be important for the Canadian team to play well against these teams and secure as many points as possible.
